Personal Information

General Overview: Melino comes from the Orphics, who believed that Zeus and Hades were one in the same God and that Zeus had a different representation of himself when he was in the underworld (thus where the idea of Hades stems). She is a chthonic nymph/goddess, said to be the offspring of Persephone, who was impregnated on the bed of Zeus Kronion in the Underworld by the River Cocytus by Hades/Zeus. Melinois the Goddess of nightmares and madness. Through manifestation and illusion, Melinobrings nightmares to mortals that are so terrifying and believable, that they are believed to have the power to drive people insane. Those respectful of and devoted to her have been known to avoid such treatment. Melino resided in the Underworld, in the realm of soul’s passage.

Introduction written by Jessaca Willis

I am
Melinoë,
daughter of Persephone
and daughter of
the coalesced Hades and Zeus.

Poisoned by darkness,
Kissed by the sky,
I am born from
The dead, from
The God of all Gods.

For centuries I’ve slept
imprisoned in the underworld,
but now
I am free.

Nightmares and madness
are my gift to the world.

Accept them willingly,
or suffer the consequences.

*insert evil laugh*

After centuries of being trapped in the confinements of the Underworld, I have finally snuck out and found freedom in the mortal world!

I’ll admit, the mortal world is much more…bland than I had hoped it would be, but at least now I can roam free. My powers know no bounds!

Except, here I am, learning that in order to stay in this realm, I need to live in a dwelling, which costs paper, which I can only obtain from something called “employment.”

So I am on such a quest, for I do not want to go back into the shadows. I want to unleash my own on the world.
